Tasting Note RP 90-93/100 A strong effort from Berliquet, the 2010 was fashioned from yields of 23 hectoliters per hectare by the managing consultant, Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt. Composed of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers copious aromas of sweet kirsch liqueur, underbrush, plums and black cherries. This mineral-laced, deep, medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic, broad, savory St.-Emilion exhibits more power and depth than past vintages. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. WS 91/100 This is nicely cloaked with charcoal and roasted apple wood, while the core of steeped fig, blackberry and black cherry paste notes sits in reserve. The well-defined finish is mostly grip for now, but should meld in the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2026. NM 91/100 the Berliquet 2010 has a ripe nose of small dark cherries, quince and just a hint of creme de cassis, the oak needing more time to fully integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with an attractive, minerally entry. I like the delineation and symmetry here, the finish very well poised and long. I hold up my hands: I under-estimated this out of barrel: this is a great wine from the estate Other Critic Score Jean-Marc Quarin : 94 /100 James Suckling : 92 /100 Stephen Tanzer : 89 /100 Wine Enthusiast : 89 /100 Decanter : 87 /100 Jeannie Cho Lee : 87 /100 Jancis Robinson : 15.5 /20
