| Tasting Note | eRobert Parker / WA : 90-92/100 The 2013 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a refined, slightly tertiary bouquet with hints of wild herbs and mint permeating the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry, the acidity nicely judged with decent structure. There is focus here with a welcome touch of salinity on the finish. This should drink well over the next 8 to 10 years. Burghound (BH) : 89/100 Naturally sweet aromas of plum and dark currant liqueur display hints of spice, iron-inflected earth and herbal tea nuances. There is a fine bead of minerality that runs the length of the palate with a taut muscularity to the medium-bodied flavors where there are touch of austere and asperity that cut the finish slightly short, at least at present. It's possible this will harmonize but the supporting tannins don't appear to be as ripe as those of either the Perrières or the Clos du Roi. Wine Maker Tasting Note : Deep intense red mellow berry color. Displaying a complex nose of fruit and spice. The palate is concentrated with silky tannins. Power and structure guarantee a good ageing potential. Match with beef, game, meat in sauce. |
