Tasting Note | eRobert Parker (WA) : 91+/100 Neal Martin The 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé les Chatagnières has a refined, yet intense bouquet with hints of white peach, dried honey and white chocolate that are beautifully entwined with the oak. The palate is rounded on the entry with fresh lime, apricot and a slight petrol-like quality that nudges it just one step towards a Riesling towards the finish. This has great character and precision, although I might have liked a little more persistence on the aftertaste Burghound (BH) : 91/100 Allen Meadows This is pretty firmly reduced so I would definitely recommend decanting it for 30 minutes or so before hand. There is good volume to the relatively fine middle weight flavors that possess solid mid-palate density as well as a lingering, complex and attractively well-balanced finale. This should be lovely with a few years of bottle age. Wine Spectator (WS) : 90/100 There's tension between the rich texture and firm structure in this white, framing the peach, melon, lemon and spice flavors. Vibrant and juicy, lingering on the chalky, minerally finish. Drink now through 2019. –BS |
