Tasting Note eRobert Parker (WA) : 92/100 (2014) Neal Martin The 2014 Pouilly-Fuissé les Crays Vieilles Vignes has another compelling bouquet, not quite as refined as the Verchere, but delivering gorgeous citrus fruit, white peach and melted butter scents that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry, hints of rosewater and orange zest on the entry, gaining more and more acidity as it unfurls in the mouth to leave you completely satisfied by the finish. Absolutely delicious. Burghound (BH) : 92/100 (2013) Once again there is enough reduction to flatten the nose but it's clear that this is quite ripe as there are whispers of exotic fruit lurking beneath the funk; be sure to decant this if you're tempted to try a bottle young. Otherwise there is a lovely vibrancy to the intense and overtly stony middle weight flavors that possess a round mid-palate that terminates in a linear, saline and impressively complex and persistent finish. This is very good and a wine of evident class. Burghound (BH) : 93/100 (2014) Once again there is a hint of reduction to the mildly phenolic nose so again, aeration is necessary. Otherwise there is terrific intensity and minerality to the delineated medium weight flavors where the minerality is so prominent as to make the mouth feel akin to sucking on small pebbles, all wrapped in a tight, linear and strikingly persistent finish. This beauty appears to have outstanding upside development potential and is highly recommended.
