Tasting Note Robert Parker 97/100 (Vintage 2005) Displaying spectacular aromatics of mulberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit, a dense ruby/purple color, and sweet floral notes, in the mouth the 2005 La Conseillante is not as broad and powerful as Petrus, Trotanoy, Hosanna or Lafleur, but it is gorgeously silky, elegant and stylish. This medium-bodied, savory wine is a graceful, provocative and compelling Pomerol to drink now and over the next 25 years. Wine Advocate (WA) : 97/100 (Vintage 2005) Neal Martin The Château La Conseillante 2005 has a flamboyant bouquet that just soars from the glass with scents of crème de cassis, blueberry, violets and a hint of black olive. This is far more exuberant than I remember it. The palate is full-bodied with ripe and underpinned by sumptuous tannins. It has extremely well-judged acidity, enormous depth and volume and a complex finish with lightly spice dark cherries, blackcurrant pastilles and minerals. There is a sense of completeness and harmony to this La Conseillante, allied with an audaciousness that is truly compelling. Wine Spectator 97/100 (Vintage 2005) This is decadent and wild on the nose, with fresh cèpe, raw steak and wild berry. Full-bodied, with loads of velvety tannins, yet refined and caressing in every way. A beautiful, balanced red. The best young wine ever from this producer. Best after 2017 Jancis Robinson 17/20 - When to drink: 2020 to 2040 - 2005 Vintage Scented and fresh with lots of non-exaggerated appeal. Masses of fruit almost disguises the tannins which are there lurking in abundance. Very fresh finish. Well done! But without quite the concentration and liquorice interest of the Église-Clinet. Jancis Robinson Jeannie Cho Lee 97/100 - 2005 Vintage Tasted at the chateau, this is a gorgeous bottle and more harmonious than the bottle enjoyed 2 years ago. An exuberant, youthful wine full of vigour and a dazzling array of flavours - sweet spices, black currant, plums, cedar and violets. Full bodied, generous and intense, this wine is best now with 2-3 hours of decanting or better yet, with another 4-5 years of bottle age. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France.
