| Tasting Note | Robert Parker 90/100 (2009 Vintage) The top cuvee from their best parcels, the 2009 Aria de Riviere is a sleeper of the vintage and just outstanding. A blend of 75% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, the wine is a bulked-up, richer, fuller, more creamy-textured and denser example of La Riviere. Abundant mocha, kirsch, black currant and blueberry fruit soar from the glass and penetrate the palate in this big, full-bodied, juicy wine. Drink it over the next 10+ years. Wine Spectator 91/100 (2009 Vintage) This is not shy with its anise and blueberry aromas, followed by densely layered plum sauce, fig paste and blackberry cobbler flavors. Along with all the showy fruit, there's ample tobacco and charcoal grip striding through the finish for balance. Modern and ambitious, but pulls it off. Best from 2013 through 2024. |
