| Tasting Note | eRobert Parker / WA : 88-90/100 The 2013 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has a vivacious blackcurrant and red plum-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good depth with grainy, stony and slightly austere finish. This is a decent Corton despite it not quite matching up to the Clos du Roi '13. Burghound (BH) : 91/100 A markedly more complex and notably more sauvage mélange of both red and dark currant is copiously fortified with notes humus, forest floor and smoke. There is excellent volume and plenty of muscular punch to the big-bodied flavors that terminate in a robust, serious, moderately tannic and solidly persistent finish. Corton-Perrières is usually one of the more rustic of the Corton grands crus and this example won't persuade anyone otherwise. Wine Maker Tasting Note : Great intensity of red mellow berry colour. Very complex nose displaying aromas of empyreumatic fruits. Great balance with very present tannins on the palate. Good ageing potential. Match with red meat, game, and cheese. |
